akismet spam filter

in the past few days, akismet [1] rejected several comments as spam. as the spamreport was empty every time i had a look at it, there was no possibility to check it for false positives. 
i updated the akismet plugin and ran a few quick tests against it, so it hopefully works correctly now.

thanks to a tiny wordpress plugin called ‘postie’ and my user account at the FAU, i now have a cron job that checks my mail every 20 minutes for new posts and publishes them. i could also send my posts from my smartphone and even attach pictures i made with it.
amazing!
in fact, this post also was sent via mail. seems to work. 
however, i still can’t imagine what could be so important that i need to post it right away from my mobile, but you never know… *g*
nice feature to have, anyway.
